A large explosion at a French university and the evacuation of students and workers
Cameras of French university students in Lyon took a huge explosion at a university building on Thursday morning, injuring three people.
Local media said the explosion took place at the Science Library building at the University of Lyon in Villeurbanne, north of the city, and that the students and staff at the university were evacuated from the site.
According to the British newspaper "Independent", the university declared that the construction work was the cause of the explosion that occurred by mistake.
According to the newspaper, the fire broke out on the roof of the building that is being restored, before infiltrating the stored gas and causing the explosion.
The incident comes days after a powerful explosion in a bakery shook the French capital Paris, killing four people and injuring dozens.
