A big fine for the Real Madrid star because of his image

MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's tax authorities have ordered a fine of £ 300,000 for Real Madrid player Gareth Bell in a case involving the commercial exploitation of his image, according to media reports.
According to the newspaper "Sun", the case dates back to 2013, when he joined the Welsh player in the Royal Club from Tottenham Hotspur.

Bill has decided to appeal the decision, which he has fined, and authorities say the amount owed is £ 300,000.

The total amount includes Bill's £ 180,000 in taxes since 2013, a £ 90,000 penalty and £ 30,000.

Although not a tax resident in Spain, the Spanish Treasury says the 29-year-old is obliged to pay a 19 percent tax on his income while playing for Real Madrid.

A number of Royal Club players have had problems with Spain's tax authorities, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Luca Modric and Marcelo.
