A singer describes her suffering with the disease in a video clip
The American singer Avril Lavigne recently released a video clip that tells the story of her four-year-old Lyme suffering, in the manner of Lebanese singer Elissa, who presented a video about her bitter experience with breast cancer.
"I felt during the illness that I was drowning underwater, and I was trying hard to breathe in the air," Lavigne said in an interview with an American magazine. "I was saying to myself, 'Lord, help me keep my head above the water.'"
Lavin, 34, said she was inspired by the song "Head Over the Water" from her health, embodying the details of her life since 2014 in the face of the disease, Tribune India reported.
"I can not go out to the beach, my voice has become the driving force ... I will not let this thing make me dizzy," says part of the song. "O Lord, keep my head above the water ... do not let me drown."
LaVine's video clip, released less than a month ago, received more than 27 million views on YouTube, and the artist thanked her fans who had long waited for her.
Lyme is caused by the entry of bacteria into the bloodstream through the skin, through a bite from a tick bug or insects infected with bacteria called Borelia.
Primary symptoms include a circular rash at the site of the sting, and may be accompanied by flu-like symptoms.
In the absence of appropriate treatment, the disease may spread to other areas of the body, affecting the joints, heart and nervous system.
