He is not a football star, a tennis player or even a basketball player. The highest paid athlete today is the Mexican boxer Saúl Alvarez, known as Canillo.
The Latin star recently entered history after becoming the highest paid athlete in history when he signed a huge contract with a television service.
The Dazn group bought the right to broadcast 11 of Canelillo in five years, compared with 365 million for the 28-year-old boxer, Forbes magazine reported.
Under the historic contract, Alvarez will receive an average of $ 33 million in one run.
Kanello will start his 11 games on Dec. 15 against British rocker Rocky Fielding and will likely face his second encounter in May against the boxer himself.
Alvarez could have earned more than $ 50 million from his victory over Gennady Golovkin in September, meaning he will receive at least $ 120 million in less than a year.
With the victory against Golovkin, Alvarez won the title of worldweight champion of the three world boxing organizations, the World Council, the World Association and the International Boxing Organization.
