Britain to deposit Europe as "perpetuating the moment"
LONDON (Reuters) - Britain plans to issue a new 50-pound ($ 0.6) coin to commemorate the European Union's withdrawal in the spring of 2019. Britain's finance ministry said Monday.
The withdrawal from the European Union is one of a series of historic moments such as the 2012 Olympics, the decision to join the European Economic Community that existed before the creation of the European Union in 1973, and the 100th anniversary of World War I, the ministry said.
"In line with this tradition, the Royal Mint will issue a coin to commemorate the UK's departure from the European Union," the Finance Ministry said.
The news came in a clip at the expense of the Ministry of Finance on Twitter, which appeared in the piece of metal seven sides covered with silver in the category of 50 pence, the slogan of "peace and prosperity and friendship with all countries," and the date of exit from the European Union "March 29, 2019."
