Ethiopian women had an unprecedented share of the new government, after women occupied half of the portfolios, including the sensitive defense portfolio.
"Our ministers will destroy the old saying that women are not fit for leadership," Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abi Ahmed said on Tuesday in the run-up to his list of candidates.

The new formation gave the woman the post of new Ministry of Peace and assigned the defense portfolio to Aisha Mohammed Musa.

The former parliament speaker is expected to take over Camille's portfolio of the Ministry of Peace at a time when Africa's second largest population is experiencing violent ethnic tensions and wide political and economic reforms.

The 20-member cabinet is the second one formed by my father since taking office last April.
