Turkish police shoot "suspicious jars" in the heart of the capital
Turkish police have opened fire on a tractor driver who was driving his tractor in front of the Turkish parliament after ignoring calls to stop, Turkish media reported on Tuesday.
The newspaper "Hurriyet" that a person was driving his tractor on a main road in the center of Ankara, on Tuesday, adding that police officers guarding the parliament called the driver to stop.
It was not clear why the tractor ran in the city center, the Associated Press reported.
NTV television said the police had shot at the driver's leg and was being questioned by police.
Terrorist attacks have targeted a number of sites in Turkey in recent years and government buildings are heavily guarded, although attacks have slowed markedly this year.
