In Senegal's largest economic project in Africa, 500 workers in Senegal beat a new sign that Turkey's economic crisis has moved from within the country to abroad this time.
According to the newspaper "Ahwal" Turkish, 500 workers working in the construction of a wholesale market, in the capital Dakar, they went to work, and demonstrated in protest against not receiving their salaries.

Turkey's Duganlar Yıtırım, which owns the Kılıbık Furniture brand, is building a wholesale market in Dakar, the largest in Africa.

The newspaper said the company's failure to pay workers' salaries was an indication that Turkey's economic problems had spread to Africa, where many Turkish companies were active in the continent.

The workers were given a deadline until Friday for the company to pay their salaries, threatening not to resume work on the project, which was launched in 2016 and cost $ 105 million.

Duganlar was founded in 1970 and has focused its investment activity in recent years on construction and energy projects.

However, Turkish companies operating in the energy and construction sectors have been hit hard by the devaluation of the lira by 40 percent this year, making it difficult to repay their debts.
