Keptom achieves world record in half marathon


Kenyan runner Abraham Keptum broke the world record for the half marathon (21 km) in Valencia, Spain, scoring 58 minutes and 18 seconds.
And Hassan Keptum by five seconds, the previous record held by Ethiopian Zersenay Tadesse (58:23 minutes), and registered in Lisbon in 2010.

The 29-year-old was second in the semi-marathon in Copenhagen last month and scored 59 minutes and 9 seconds. His personal number in the marathon was 42,195 km (26,625) and was achieved in Amsterdam in October 2017.

Last year's Valencia race broke the world record in the women's half marathon, with Jocelyn Gepkusgei of Kenya scoring 1.04: 51 hours.
