Real Betis drops AC Milan in his home
Real Betis have forced AC Milan to concede to Group F with a 2-1 win over third-placed Uyria League on Thursday.
Betis raised his lead to 7 points in the lead against 6 points for AC Milan and four for Olympiakos of Greece, who beat Luxembourg's Dodelang 2-0.
Milan started the match after beating Olympiakos and Dodelang, while Betis drew Olympiakos in the first round.
But coach Gennaro Gattuso preferred to rest a number of players after Derby city, which ended in favor of rivals Inter Milan on Sunday at the deadly moments.
He missed Milan's main squad, such as goalkeeper Gianluigi Donaruma, Turkish Hakan Galhanoglu, Ivorian Frank Casey, Spaniard Soso and Swiss Ricardo Rodriguez.
At the San Siro stadium, Milan did not manage to control the rhythm of the game. Paraguayan striker Tony Sanabria opened the scoring for the Andalusian team by translating Giovanni Lucello's cross from close range at the goal.
Betis scored a second goal and was sent off by the referee for the offense. [33] Sanabria then missed a dangerous opportunity and the goalkeeper was shot in front of him. The first half ended with an attempt by Argentine Gonzalo Higuain to skip the keeper and score the equalizer, but his attempt failed (45 + 1).
After the break, Milan's performance improved after Gattuso Soso and Patrick Kotroni replaced Teemue Bacayoko and Fabio Borini.
But Betis deepened the wounds of the Lombardi team when Lucello, second-placed Paris Saint-Germain, received the ball and fired it from about 25 to score the second goal in the 55th minute.
Substitute Kotroni narrowed the gap by interpreting Spanish striker Samo Castillo, 83, who was sent off at the end of the match without his side scoring a draw.
