Siesta .. The "magic solution" for a stronger memory
A series of studies conducted by prestigious universities in different countries have shown that getting a short nap significantly helps memory and renews the activity of the body, citing a series of steps to get the "perfect siesta".
A study conducted by Harvard University, the US, that siesta, which lasts 60 to 90 minutes, can be as effective as sleep all night.
Stephan Gies and his colleagues at Lübeck University analyzed the ability of people to remember the facts and found that students who closed their eyes for short periods after learning new vocabulary were able to remember them better.
At the University of Parana, Brazil, Philip Pegamini and colleagues studied the ability of people to solve problems logically, before and after sleep.
Some participants took a nap after trying to solve a problem with video games, while others took a break but did not sleep.
When retested, those who had a sleep were more than twice as likely to solve the problem, according to Telegraph.
Sleep also enhances a person's ability to apply what he has learned in a given field to other areas successfully, as well as his ability to retain information.
A study at the University of Bristol has shown that taking a nap or going to bed soon after learning something you are hoping to keep will actually help you remember it.
However, this study also indicated that people should be careful about what they see or read before going to sleep. The brain will store and remember information that a person was unaware of, such as browsing social networking sites, for example. Ads, a person does not focus on ads, but they will be stored in memory along with other things he wants to focus on.
It is noteworthy that these studies faced some criticism, because the participants were aware that they are supposed to learn something, and therefore their focus was stronger.
The Perfect Siesta
For a person to have a perfect siesta with all its benefits, there are a number of steps that can be taken.
Drink strong coffee before lying down on bed. Although it is widely believed that drinking coffee will not make you sleep, taking it just before bedtime for a short period of time (20 minutes) will help you wake up actively.
If you are someone who can not control your thoughts, try closing your eyes and taking a long, slow breath. You do not have to cover your sleep to feel comfortable. Relaxing will also relax your body.
Find a quiet, dark and comfortable room to lie down in, and try to make your surroundings immortal to sleep.
