The father of the star of Belgium .. the first mayor of African descent

The father of Manchester City's captain and defender, Vincent Company, became the first African-born mayor to be elected in Belgium after winning his list on Sunday evening in the local election of Ganshorn, near Brussels.
Pierre Kompany, 71, who will head the municipality of this bilingual town of 25,000 in December, fled the Democratic Republic of the Congo (former Zaire) in 1975 and dissolved in Belgium.

Company's father had a political refugee status in 1982 before being naturalized later, according to public television RTVF.

"He is the first black mayor in Belgium," he said in a video posted on Twitter, "This is not historical, we are all happy, congratulations to my father."

Despite his studies as a civil engineer, Pierre Compagnie initially worked as a taxi driver in Brussels.

"I'm proud (of its origin), how can I forget? My color will never change ... My children know the origins of their father," said Kompany, the father who was elected by the Democratic Democratic Party.

In 2014, Congolese President Denis Lesliele took over the post of mayor of Sampreville in Fallon (center), but was then vice president and temporarily took over the president's job because of his involvement in a lawsuit.
