US authorities arrest man in connection with parcels

The US federal authorities arrested a man linked to the parcels sent to prominent figures from Democrats, former US officials and key critics of President Donald Trump, CNN reported Friday.
The Associated Press quoted US law enforcement officials as saying that the man detained in connection with the US-bombed packages was Cesar Saiuk, 56, from Aventura, Florida.

Four officials familiar with the investigation revealed the identity of the man, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss a case still under investigation.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that a suspicious parcel, Democratic Senator of New Jersey, Corey Booker, had been intercepted in Florida, saying it was similar in appearance to other packages found in the past few days.

This is the eleventh of its kind this week.

The bombs were aimed at President Trump.

Other packages also targeted other people, including former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, former attorney general Eric Holder, billionaire George Soros, former Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Maxine Watrice.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting nationwide surveillance to find out who is behind the sending of the parcel bombs.

Officials are trying to determine whether the sender or the senders are trying to instill fear or actually cause physical destruction.
