An Italian television broadcaster faced a "storm" of criticism after publishing a controversial picture with her partner, Italy's interior minister, the Italian deputy prime minister.
On her official account, the presenter, Elissa Esswardi, published a "warm" picture of her with Minister Mateo Salvini, in which she announced their separation.
"I will not miss what we have shared, but I will miss what we would love, with my greatest respect for the true love that was, thank you," said Salvini in the picture with Iswardy on the bed, both of them almost naked.
Esswardy quoted a statement by Italian writer Gio Ivan to declare the secession from Salvini.
Esswardy has faced a major attack on social media because of the controversial image that the famous broadcaster chose to publish.
"Elissa is the only one responsible for the absence of feelings and respect," one of them wrote. "Behind every great man is a woman. The real woman does not publish such pictures."
Right-wing minister Salveni has not commented on the picture so far, and is said to be one of the ministers known for his toughness against immigrants.
