A Chinese-Russian passenger jet to compete with aviation giants

China and Russia have entered the line of competition between Airbus Europe and Boeing, planning to produce a commercial plane with a wide body and structure.
The two countries offered a life-size representation of the wide-bodied plane, a joint venture between China's Kumak and United Russia Aircraft, at the China International Aviation Fair 2018, held twice a year.

The two countries formed a joint airline, called the International Company for the manufacture of commercial aircraft "Kraj", to produce a large-bodied passenger aircraft, called the "CRAK CR 929".

The director general of the Chinese company Kumak, Gao Yue Rang, described the CRIC SR929 as an "important strategic project", adding that it is a means of strengthening relations between the two countries.

It is expected that the joint venture will design an integrated family of CR 929 aircraft, where there will be a basic aircraft called "CR 929-600" and a smaller (CR 929-500) and a large third (CR 929-700).

In addition to passenger transport, there will be cargo aircraft and other business, private aircraft and special purpose aircraft.

According to sources, the cost of the joint venture is estimated at $ 20 billion. It is planned to accommodate 280 passengers. It will have two engines, 63.8 meters long and 63.3 meters wide.

With these specifications, the aircraft will be a competitor to the Boeing 787 and the Airbus 350A.

But the plane will not be available for use at least 10 years ago.

China launched the first field test of its commercial aircraft, the C919, in May 2017, while Russia has its own commercial aircraft, a Tupolev, an extension of the commercial aircraft industry in the Soviet era.
