America will temporarily "forgive" countries that import Iranian oil

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Friday that the United States is expected to issue exemptions for eight countries that import Iranian oil.
Pompeo added that the exemptions would be temporary, noting that the exemptions would give the eight countries additional "weeks" to end their imports of Iranian oil.

"The Iranians will do all they can to circumvent these sanctions," he said, stressing that his country was ready to do whatever it could to prevent Tehran from circumventing it.

The Trump administration has announced the re-imposition of all US sanctions on Iran, which were lifted in accordance with the 2015 nuclear deal. Washington has also added 700 people and entities to its sanctions list against Iran.

The United States is preparing to re-impose a second round of sanctions on Iran, aimed at vital sectors of Iran's economy, on November 5 as part of a US strategy to paralyze the regime's ability to continue destabilizing the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump announced last May that the United States would withdraw from the nuclear deal signed in 2015 between Tehran and world powers aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear capabilities and decided to re-impose sanctions suspended under the deal.
