Conte's demands prompted Peres to close the door with his face
A former president of Real Madrid confirmed that Italian Antonio Conte has put "impossible" demands on the club's "royal" management during negotiations to coach the team.
Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon revealed the main reason why Conte's negotiations with Real, which he sought to appoint after coach Guelene Lobetigi's dismissal last week, failed.
In an interview with BBC Radio, Calderon said: "He has asked for a three-year contract, he has asked for the appointment of five people in the training staff, and the administration's intervention is not final in the transfer market."
Calderon said Conte's demands for "full control" were "something the president (Florentino Perez) would never accept" and the latter would close the door to the Italian coach.
"I do not think Conte is the coach that Real Madrid is waiting for, like Jose Mourinho, who is a defensive coach with three defenders and relies on counter-attacks," said the club's former president.
In addition to his difficult demands, the newspaper pointed out that other reasons for not being appointed Antonio Conte is the objection of a number of senior stars in the club.
Conte has had problems with the management during his training for his former Chelsea club, prompting the London club to sack him last summer, despite the good results over two seasons.
