Higuain penalty announced after Juventus events
The Italian Football Federation (IFF) has decided to suspend AC Milan's Gonzalo Higuain for two games after being sent off in Juventus 2-0 on Sunday.
Higuain spent an evening of forgetfulness before the team he gave up last summer for Milan, with a penalty kick and then sent off in the final minutes, after receiving two warnings.
It was the first warning after an error is not clear to the Moroccan Mehdi Benatia, and the second because of insulting the referee against the first warning, to leave the stadium crying, affected by what happened with him in his first official confrontation with his former team.
After the match, Higuain apologized for "my coaches, my fans and the fans ... I apologize for my actions, but I am not an automatic man."
The Apocalypse judge ruled on Tuesday that he would be suspended for two games, meaning he would miss the next two matches against Lazio and Parma unless Milan decided to appeal and try to reduce the penalty for one match.
"Higuain has been suspended for two matches and received a warning because of his objections to the referee and his very humiliating behavior towards the referee," the disciplinary committee said.
"He approached the referee in the second half in a way that was out of control and threatened."
