Hours before sanctions, Washington puts 12 conditions on Iran

The US State Department has revealed 12 conditions set by the United States on Iran if it wants to lift severe sanctions that are due to come into force on Sunday.
The sanctions, which include the energy and banking sectors, "aim to push Iran to act as a natural state," the State Department's outreach team said in a tweet on Twitter.

With the title of a new strategy on Iran, the Foreign Ministry in Video 12 mentioned a US demand from the Iranian regime in this regard, including:

1. Disclosing to IAEA the previous military details of its nuclear program.

2. Cease all uranium enrichment activities, non-production of plutonium and closure of the heavy water reactor "Arak".

3. Allow IAEA experts unconditional access to all nuclear sites in the country.

4. End the deployment of ballistic missiles and missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

5. Release US citizens and nationals of allied countries detained in Iran.

6. Ending the support of terrorist groups in the Middle East, including Hezbollah, Hamas and Jihad.

7. Respect the sovereignty of the Iraqi government and allow the disarmament of Shiite militias.

8. Stop supporting the Huthi militias and work on political alignment in Yemen.

9. Withdrawal of all Iranian forces from Syria.

10. End support for the Taliban and other terrorists in Afghanistan and the region and not provide shelter for al Qaeda leaders.

11. Ending the support of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guard to terrorists throughout the world.

12. Stop threatening its neighbors with missiles, their devastating cyber attacks, as well as threatening international navigation.

In a statement on Friday, US President Donald Trump put Tehran in front of the choice between changing its destructive approach or facing economic disaster, stressing that US action was directed against the regime and not against the Iranian people.

The US president announced last May the US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement signed in 2015 between Tehran and the world powers, which was aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear capabilities, and decided to re-impose sanctions suspended under the agreement.

The first package of sanctions, re-imposed last August, targeted the Iranian auto sector and the banking sector, including dealing with the Iranian riyal and Iranian bonds.

The second package, which is the most severe, includes oil, ports, shipping, air carriers and financial institutions.
