"Diary of Punishment" teacher in Turkish prisons

Turkish newspaper "Gerhat" published an impressive story of the suffering of a teacher subjected to the worst forms of torture, after accusing him of contributing to the attempted coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2016.
The journey of the Turkish teacher Mustafa K. (40 years) and his family from inside the hell of Turkish prisons, he told him himself in a lengthy interview with the newspaper.

The story begins outside Turkey in an undisclosed country when he and his wife were teaching in a short period of time. The social science teacher then had to return with his wife Nilgon and their children to Turkey to take care of his elderly father, who suffered a paralyzed stroke. 2015.

Because of the considerable financial costs of treating his father, as well as his mother, life was not easy for the family in Ankara.

On the day of the attempted coup d'état July 15, 2016, the family was hospitalized because the wife bore their third child. Because of her pregnancy, which exposed her to many health problems, the family had to be hospitalized for long periods that year.

After the coup d'état, Mustafa decided to travel with his family and return to the country from which he had come, sensing that the search and arrest of the pro-Fatah Turks might also affect them.

But it was not so easy. Mustafa's expectations were confirmed and the family was arrested at Ankara airport before leaving the country.

It was later discovered that a Turkish informant informed the authorities that Mustafa was an element of the Turkish opposition movement Fathullah Gulen and that he had organized religious speeches on behalf of the movement.

The journey of torment

Mustafa was detained for 30 days in a Turkish prison, where he was subjected to experiments, which may be difficult to overcome psychologically and physically, for life, after talking about his life inside the prison in a long letter written by the Turkish court.

"I was very embarrassed when I saw the Turkish policemen insulting the worst words, I never heard such words in my life, so they said they would rape my wife." Once, five police officers tortured me and insulted me by insulting my wife.

During periods of daily physical and verbal torture, police officers threatened Mustafa: "Either you recognize or you will die, we have nothing to fear. We can kill you here and then write a report, that's all, no one can save you anymore."

The torture sessions developed when Mustafa was transferred to the anti-terrorism center in Ankara where he was subjected to daily beatings and repeated insults, including stripping him.

After Mustafa approached death several times, the police asked him to give them recognition that he had planned the coup, which Mustafa refused. The police then decided to put him under house arrest pending a court decision that was expected to issue a terrorism ruling against him. Ranging from 10 to 22 years, according to his client's lawyer.

the miracle

On the night of August 6, 2018, Mustafa decided to break the surveillance device tied to his neck inside the house, and flee to Greece with his family.

"We have been in Greece for more than a month," he says, "I did not feel comfortable for 20 to 30 days, I say every morning when I wake up," My God, I hope it is not a dream. "

Mustafa now lives safely with his family, but what he went through in Turkish prisons is something that will remain immortal in the memory of that Turkish teacher.

According to him, he was subjected to a special team in Ankara specializing in torture of detainees in places called "special rooms". What happens there can not be recorded, but it remains in the memory of the torturers.

Turkey has isolated some 170,000 judges, teachers, police and civil servants since the coup attempt in July 2016. In December 2017, the Justice Ministry announced that more than 169,000 people had been prosecuted for planning the coup.
