The arrest of six people who planned to attack the French president

French authorities on Tuesday arrested six people linked to the far right on charges of preparing for a violent act against President Emmanuel Macaron.
The arrests took place in the Isère and Moselle regions of eastern France, following investigations by France's internal intelligence service.

A source familiar with the investigation said the suspects had drawn up an "inaccurate and loose" plan to carry out "violent action" against the president.

No further details were provided on the arrested persons.
