"Insulting the referee" cost the Milan defender a lot

Italy's disciplinary commission has punished Milan defender Andrea Conte for insulting the referee at the Milan youth team's match against Chievo Verona.
Paolo Maldini, the club's 25-year-old manager, was also suspended for one week for insulting the referee after the Chievo match.

The 24-year-old Conte has been playing his first game at all levels since August, recovering from a knee injury.

Conte "found the referee in his room at the end of the match and prevented him from slamming the door with his fist," he said.

"Maldini" entered the referee's room without permission and drew violent comments against him, "Reuters quoted the statement as saying.

Maldini scored a record 647 matches in the Italian qualifier before he retired at the age of 40 in 2009.

Maldini has a record of 902 games in all competitions, scoring seven times and a European Cup or Champions League five times.
