Turkish soldiers killed and injured in "ammunition accident"


Turkish Defense Ministry announced the loss of 7 soldiers and wounding 25 others, Friday, in an incident occurred during heavy artillery fire.
The ministry said in a statement that the incident occurred at a base in Hakkari province adjacent to Iraq and Iran, where frequent clashes between Kurdish forces and the Turkish army.

Reports said the wounded soldiers were immediately taken to hospital, without details of their condition.

The Turkish authorities opened an investigation into the causes of the accident, the Associated Press reported.
