Real Madrid announced on Monday the dismissal of coach Julien Lobetigui, after a cruel loss to Barcelona 5 goals against a single goal, in the summit of the tenth round of the Spanish league.
The club added that it was decided to appoint Argentine coach Santiago Solari, temporarily in place to wait for a new coach.
"The board of Real Madrid, which met today, decided to terminate the contract of coach Julien Lobetigi," the club wrote in a statement.
"This decision was taken with the highest degree of responsibility, aimed at changing the dynamics of the first team," the club said in a statement.
"He will be temporarily replaced by Santiago Solari, who will lead the first team from Tuesday," the statement said.
