Turkish authorities recently foiled an attempt to smuggle an ancient Bible version of the Bible worth up to $ 2.5 million in the western province of Pakesir.
The daily "Daily Hurriyet" reported that the Turkish police received a report on an attempt to transfer the Hebrew Bible from the Aegean province of Izmir to Balikesir.

Police stopped a car on the highway between the two provinces and managed to book the book, which over the years has become an important historical and religious document.

The security operation led to the arrest of a local official in one of the towns, as well as the arrest of a number of police and construction workers involved in the smuggling attempt.
