US stocks close lower
NEW YORK (Reuters) - US stocks fell on Monday in a volatile session and the Standard & Poor's 500 failed to confirm its second correction in 2018, under pressure from renewed fears of rising trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, and sharp declines in technology and Internet stocks.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 245.05 points, or 0.99 percent, at 24,443.26. According to Reuters.
The Standard & Poor's 500 Index shed 17.43 points, or 0.66 percent, to 2,641.26.
The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 116.92 points, or 1.63 percent, to 7,050.29.
