After news of the exit from the Champions League .. Infantino threatens the World Cup

Amid reports that plans for a European Super League are still in place, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has vowed dire consequences for anyone he may participate.
"If you participate in any separatist competition, you can either be with us or stay out," he warned.

Bayern Munich and its chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, have tried to lead some of the continent's top clubs to a new competition, a European Super League and a Champions League exit, according to leaks published by Der Spiegel newspaper last week.

Both the German champion and his boss, Rummenigge, vehemently denied the allegations, which were based on documents leaked to the international media.

Infantino says there could be greater penalties for any player joining his clubs in any "separate" European tournament.

"If there are players who do not play in organized football, they do not play organized football, and that includes everything - the national leagues, the UEFA competitions, the Euro and the World Cup," he told reporters.

These reports come amid the "clash" between the European Union and the international, on the latter's plans to expand the Club World Cup.

"The Club World Cup is the solution to any attempt to think about any of these breakaway championships," said Infantino.
